[RCM-04.05.2008] The Leader of the Revolution received Issa Hayatou, the President of African Football Federation.   

(Tripoli: 02.5.2009-JANA) The leader of the Revolution and Chairman of African Union received Saturday evening the President of the African Football Federation, '' Issa Hayatou currently visiting the Great Jamahiriya.
At the outset of this audience attended by Dr. Eng. Mohammed Muammar al-Gathafi, Mr. Issa Hayatou congratulated the leader in the name of African Sport youth for selecting him chairman of the African Union. He expressed high appreciation of the African Football Federation of the leader's confidence in African youth and his call to them to engage themselves in building and uniting the African continent on the path of establishing the United States of Africa.
The President of the African Football Federation reaffirmed the federation's commitment to support the leader's efforts in encouraging the African youth to carry out their role in promoting the march of the AU on the path of establishing the United States of Africa. He stressed on the leader's call that the African Football Federation should assume its responsibilities in asserting that (FIFA) is an international federation and not owned by any country or a group of countries the way it is now, that led to transferring sport from an individual human activity and popular sport practiced by all masses into a monopoly by the rich and dominant elite.

[RCM-8.04.2008] First African Wushu Championship Kicks off.

[Tripoli, 04.04.2008 –JANA] The First African Wushu "Kung Fu" Championship Kicked off at Qurthuba sports hall in Tripoli, where the competition brings together nine African countries (Great Jamahiriya, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, Benin, Nigeria and Sudan).

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohammed Muammar Al-Qathafi, Head and members of the executive bureau of African Wushu Federation, and a number of the diplomatic corps in Great Jamahiriya.

The organizing committee's speech was delivered by the President of the Libyan Wushu Federation where he hailed Dr. Mohammed Muammar Al-Qathafi for supporting Libyan sports, and hailed the audience and wished a pleasant stay in Great Jamahiriya.

The president of the African Wushu Federation delivered a speech on the occasion where he underlined the importance of the competition in demonstrating talents of this sport. The First African Wushu Championship continues until next Sunday.
